The Mission of Sorrow: The Divine Purpose of Grief

Sorrow has a mission—not shaped by the wisdom of this world, but by the hand of God. Have you been laid low by illness, worn thin by long suffering, and warned by weakness of the grave? May the everlasting arms uphold you, and heaven’s light break through the shadows.

Has the wife of your youth been taken? Have you watched, helpless, as a beloved child slipped beyond your reach? These are wounds that break the heart—but they are not beyond the reach of divine comfort.

God sends sorrow not to sever, but to sanctify. He dims the light of this world to draw your eyes to a brighter one. His goal is not to weaken your bond to the ones you’ve lost, but to lift it upward—toward eternity, and toward Himself.
